Forum on Nuclear Weapon Ban Treaty – Where to Next?

Co-presented with the School of Social and Political Sciences, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), the Evatt Foundation and the Council for Peace and Justice.

Speakers

  • Tara Gutman is Acting National Manager, International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and Advocacy at Australian Red Cross. She works with Department of Defence, AGD and DFAT to support the implementation of international humanitarian law.
  • Tim Wright is Asia-Pacific director of ICAN. He is a member of the international staff team and has been involved in the campaign since 2006. He has degrees in law and arts from the University of Melbourne.
  • Frank Stilwell (moderator) is Professor Emeritus in Political Economy in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Sydney. He is a well known critic of conventional economics, and an advocate of alternative economic strategies which prioritise social justice and ecological sustainability. He was elected Vice President of the Evatt Foundation in 2014.
